Conditions We Accept
Won’t Start
Dead battery, bad starter, or unknown issue — we’ll come get it.
Blown Engine
Engine seized or beyond repair? Still donatable.
Transmission Gone
Slipping, dead, or missing — no problem at all.
Wrecked / Totaled
Accident damage or declared a total loss — we take it.
Flood or Fire Damage
Severely damaged vehicles are often still accepted.
Flat Tires
Flat, worn, or damaged tires — no problem. We use flatbed tow trucks.
What We Can’t Accept
There are a few situations where we’re unable to accept a vehicle — typically because it can’t be loaded onto a flatbed or has no resale or scrap value:
- Vehicles missing wheels and tires (can’t roll onto the flatbed)
- Vehicles that have been fully disassembled or stripped to a shell
- Vehicles that have been completely burned
- Lawn mowers and similar small-engine equipment

You Can Still Get a Tax Deduction
Non-running vehicles are fully tax deductible. You’ll receive an initial donation receipt at pickup. If your vehicle sells for $500 or more, we’ll also mail you IRS Form 1098-C within 30 days of the sale. See our Tax Deduction Guide for full details on how your deduction is calculated.
What Happens to Your Non-Running Car?
Most non-running vehicles are sold at wholesale auction or for scrap, with all proceeds going directly to Activated Ministries to fund scholarships for missionary children, an orphanage in Uganda, disaster relief, summer camps, and literacy programs.
