Utah Title Processing Information

I'VE GOT THE TITLE IN FRONT OF ME, NOW WHERE DO I SIGN?

You must sign on the line 3, off to the left on the front page of the title, under the lien of release.

The owner is solely responsible for the release of liability. If you, the owner has the title you sign off as the seller. If you don't have the title you can apply for a duplicate title in which you will encounter a $6 fee and there's a $4 for duplicate registration.

I'm the registered owner but I can't find my title:

To replace a lost title, complete Form TC-123, "Duplicate Title Application. This form can be obtained at any DMV office. The Duplicate Title Application must be signed by an owner of record and may require a release of lien from previous lien holder. The fee for a duplicate title is $6.00.

If you can't get a the necessary information to obtain a duplicate title you can complete the Insufficient Evidence of Ownership  process to get a salvage title. This involves certified mailings to the owners, a 45 day waiting period, VIN inspection, and the filing of all necessary paperwork with the DMV. You will need written notification on Provider letterhead requesting this process along with a copy of the repair estimate, an Ownership Statement signed by the Provider (Utah form TC-569A), copy of the cashed settlement check (front and back), a copy of the letter sent to the owner requesting the title, and the returned, unopened, certified mailings to the owner.

If you don't want to go through the process of obtaining a duplicate title you can have us complete the process for you by filling out the forms below.
