How to Be a True Friend
Being a true friend is something we all want to be, but what are some down to earth ways we can pratice being a true friend to the people we care about?
1. Go the extra mile when they need help.
There are times when expressing your concern is not enough. We all know what it's like to go through a difficult time, where, without the help of others, we would have a rough go at getting through it. Learn to look for ways you can actively do something to help a friend in need. This is the essence of what being a true friend is all about.
2. Say "I'm sorry."
Two of the hardest words to say in the English language are "I'm sorry." Being a true friend is learning to admit when you've hurt someone and being willing and humble enough to truly apologize. Watch your friendships grow and your happiness increase when you learn this key to a full life.
3. Be trustworthy.
Being dependable is paramount to maintaining good friendships. People need to know that you'll keep your word and make good on your promises. One way to avoid being seen as someone who is unreliable, is making sure that you're not too quick to commit to something you may not be able to fulfill. It's better to be honest and upfront and tell someone when you won't be able to do something that's being asked of you.
